How is it legal to sell replica designer accessories for example knock-off designer purses, on line? There are an enormous amount of web sites selling these items and most sites are very specific as to the making of these items, how they use the best leather and replicate these items down to the threads and some give serial numbers and everything. Does it have something to do with where they were purchased or manufactured? Do they need some kind of permission to sell these items? I notice these sites are charging sales tax so obviously the state is aware of their business.

Please advise.

China does not follow copyright laws. The US does.

These sites are constantly under attack by copyright holders who can enforce their rights at any time.
