Legal Question in Business Law in Pennsylvania

I won a vehicle from my company and paid for half of it. My name is the only name on the title. Now the company want the vehicle back after 3 years because I no longer work for them. Is this legal? I won the vehicle in Maryland. The company is headquartered out of Georgia. I have been living in PA for the last 2 years, where I was when I was stopped working for them.

I do not know what the law is in Georgia or Maryland, and that may be the law that governs this situation. In Pennsylvania, the court would examine the contract between you and the company regarding the car. Was working for the company a condition of keeping the car? Were you required to pay for the balance of the car to keep the car? BTW, the name on the car title, doesn't necessary tell us who has the right to own and possess the car. On the hand, in Pennsylvania, the company only has 2 years to collect on a breach of contract. On the surface, it looks like the company may have waived its right to recover the car. However, there could be other relevant facts that are not addressed in your question. And I am almost positive that Maryland law would govern this situation because that is where this contract was executed--I am not a Maryland lawyer. You should talk to a lawyer and show that person any paperwork, letters, and emails that you have related to this car and your former company. Good luck.
