Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Pennsylvania

My belongings in his rented shop

I recently put my house on the market and was told I needed to clear out some of the items in my home as to make it more appealing. I moved many of my things that my ex husband had bought for me as well as things that belonged to my children. My three oldest are leaving for college this month and can't get their things. I was dating someone who was renting a shop for his business and offered me to put the things in their until they were needed. As it turns out he will not allow my children and I to get our belongings. I do have pictures of some of the things, some receipts. I have witnesses he verbally told they were my things. There are heirlooms of my grandmothers as well. I could get my grandfather to testify to this. Please help me I am at a loss as to what I can do about retrieving my own things.

Re: My belongings in his rented shop

first, call go tot he local police station where the business is located and them for help. Usually they will have an officer escort you to the shop and wait there with you while you remove your belongings.

Sometimes the police will not help you. If this is the case. Sue him in small claims court. Go to the courthouse in the county in which the business is located and ask them for help. If this is in montgomery county, then norristown is where you file. Good Luck.
