Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Pennsylvania

Greetings, I was speaking to my distant sister not to long ago and she mentioned something to me that has me thinking I may have a case. I seek some clairification, if you would. Putting it in a timeline is the fasted way to tell the story. I am one of 5 children. In 1980 my grandmom died without a will. She owned her home. My father was the only child and she was not married. There was never any official paperwork done to transfer the property to my dad. One of my sisters who is now deceased, took control of the property but did not live in it. She allowed my brother Bruce, who is also deceased to live in the property until he died. My sister told me that in 2005 my bro-in-law approached her and my other brother, Herman to sign over their rights to Grandmas house to him which they did. In 2008 the property sold for $378,000.00 according to the BRT website. the city has since demolished the house.

I feel, like I had rights in that property after my dad died too. But was never made aware of anything about this until talking to my sister not long ago. Do you think I can overcome the statute of limitations, since I'm just learing about this fraud and sue my bro-in-law and possible the realator who brokered the deal? thanks so much

You should definitely see an estates lawyer as soon as possible. If your father died without a will, you would have a 1/5 interest in the house. It is likely that the eventually buyer had title insurance, wich would have been required any mortage company. A title search of the property should have revealed your interest in the property. I am not concerned about the statute of limitation (although it may be raised), but as you said, you did not learnof this situation until fairly recently, and that is when the statute of limitations would have began to run.

As I said, you must see a lawyer who practices estate law to get to the bottom of this. I don't know what the BRT website is and I don't know why the city demolished the house. If your brother and sister received any of these funds, it would seem that you might have a lawsuit against them. See a lawyer ASAP,
