Re: Teacher restrictions

I am not sure of the answer, but I think it is reasonable for the teacher or principal to ask for a doctor's note to drink water in the classroom if the school rule is 'no eating or drinking' in the classroom. Obviously, if there is a medical reason for needing water, the principal or teacher will allow the child to have water. If there is no medical reason, then the rule should be enforced. Then you can challenge the rule, but i can't think of a non medical reason why kids should be allowed to eat or drink in a classroom. I think medical reasons like diabetes are reasonable, or if the child is obese and on weight watchers where they are required to drink a lot of water, those would all be medical.

Good Luck
