aol instant messenger
In my info on aol instant messenger I have some hurtful things in it about my x girlfriend and she said she is callin the cops on me and warned me if I dont take it out she is goin to go through with it. I want to know if its illegal to have what i have writted in my info, only people who have my screen name can see it and that makes her mad, can't you say anything you want in your own profile? It is not broadcasted over the entire internet its only on my info

Re: aol instant messenger
If I understand correctly, you have written scandalous material and published it. That's not a crime unless you incite someone to action.
It may be a tort, libel. But there are defenses to libel such as if it is the truth or if it is clearly identified as your opinion.
So, what did you write?
