In addition to what was pointed out by Mr. Pepper, you may also want to consider the use of a corporate entity. Whether an LLC or some Corporate form, you should certainly consider these options, which will limit you liability. Typically this can be done for very little, which makes it a very attractive option even for VERY small operations.
