Legal Question in Technology Law in Pennsylvania
Online Business
I'm starting an online business (sole proprietorship). Are there any legal fees/government/state regulations/licenses that I should be aware of? I do know that there are state taxes involved. Thank you.

Depending upon the nature of your business, there may be zoning permits to consider, or other state or county business licenses. Also, if you wish to use a fictitious name for your business, you would need to register that with the state.

In addition to what was pointed out by Mr. Pepper, you may also want to consider the use of a corporate entity. Whether an LLC or some Corporate form, you should certainly consider these options, which will limit you liability. You can email me if you have any further questions regarding costs, logistics, etc. involving in forming such an entity. Typically this can be done for very little, which makes it a very attractive option even for VERY small operations.
