Viewing Email Other Than Your Own
I would like to know if it is illegal to view another person's email without their permission. These are the circumstances:
1. The password was acquired using a keylogger program which records everything that is typed. This program was running on my computer and the other party was using it. The other party was unaware that this program was running. The reason for using this program was out of suspicion that the other person was being untruthful regarding certain issues and I wanted to find the true facts for myself.
2. When viewing the other person's email, no alterations were made. Their email account was simply opened and the email was read.

Re: Viewing Email Other Than Your Own
Of course it's illegal. Sneaky and immoral, but you knew that part already.
You've admitted conduct that violates the federal Electronic Communications Privacy Act, by intercepting someone else's email.
