Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Pennsylvania
Recently the local police arrived at the middle school and did a search of the students cell phones for evidence of "sexting" and then issued fines to those that did. Is this a violation of the fourth amendment?

Perhaps it is. They need to have some reason to conduct such a search. The Constitution I would be looking at would be Pennsylvania's. The Article 1 restriction on search and seizure has been interpreted to be more restrictive as to what is allowable then the 4th amendment to the US Constitution.
