Legal Question in Construction Law in Pennsylvania
contractor negligence
I hired a gen. contracting firm for renovations on a time/ materials basis, supervised by the firm's project manager(PM). In many instances the PM initiated renovation work without my knowledge and neglected to inform me of ''field changes''. Often, when I saw the work, I disagreed with his decisions and asked that the work be corrected. I believe I am being charged: A--to correct work that the PM initiated without my consent; and B--for errors made by his crew and subs. What recourse have I for his failure to verify work scope/design before building and to properly check the work of crew/subs? I have huge bills & an endless ''punch list''.

Re: contractor negligence
from the facts you have submitted thus far, it appears you would have causes of action for breach of contract and/or negligence. thus, if this is ultimately the case, you would entitled recovery for any out of pocket damages you have suffered consequentially based on the contractor's conduct (i.e. your bills, etc..) if you would like further legal assistance in this area, feel free to email me directly as my law firm does alot of "house counsel" legal work for various businesses.
