Legal Question in Construction Law in Pennsylvania
I have an issue with a contractor. He took a ladder from my brothers estate without my permission but latter stated that he would make compensation for it by providing some free labor and I said OK. He kept the ladder but never did the work. Latter due to firing him I held back a few of his tools unitle he return the ladder. He called the police and told them that I was holding his tools. The police came and I said yes I was holding them until he returned my ladder. The police called him and said what I told the police and he return the ladder and I returned his tools.
My question is during that time he had the ladder he had 4 jobs requiring the use of the ladder and thus he made money by having it.
Thus my question can I charge rent for that ladder during the period he had it?
