Legal Question in Construction Law in Pennsylvania
hello i am Jose Ceballos, i live in Lebanon Pa. I had hired a contractor to finish my basement and i desided to not do it with him due to him and i not agreeing on things. He then send me a refund agreement to sign and i did and sent it to him. He apparently never received it, so i then emailed him a copy of one that i had sign. I then waited 15-30 days like the agreement said. Now, he said he sent the check in the mail and that if i don't receive it is because the post office lost it. what can i do about this issue do you help people in this situation? I am in need of help but i am not in the best financial stage.

The Home Improvement Contractors Protection Act (HICPA) provides protections for homeowners who believe they have been treated unfairly. You should contact the Attorney General's Office and tell them you have a problem with a home improvement contractor.
