Legal Question in Consumer Law in Pennsylvania

car sent to auction, sold and still owe payments

My boyfriend is being sued by mitsubishi. He just received a summons in the mail after two years of making his last payment. In brought the car brand new and the car was towed by the philadelphia park authority. my boyfriend couldn't pay the towing fees back then, so the car sat at the auction and was sold two months later. mitsubishi never went to pick up the car. the summons state that the philadelphia parking authority only sold the car for $452.00. First time we are hearing about the car being sold for this amount. Is there anyway to get in touch with the philadelphia parking authority to find out if the car was only sold for this amount and is it true that mitsubishi was not responsible for picking up the car when notified two months ahead of the time the car was auctioned off and if my boyfriend is responsible is there anyway that the costs could be lowered? Mitsubishi is saying he owes $11,000 for a balloon payment, plus taxes and interest and legal fees and costs.

I suggest you contact an attorney immediately to review this situation and be sure you have all correspondence received in the matter. If you signed a loan then it must be paid did you pay the loan in full?
