Car repo
My car was voluntarily repo over 3 years ago. We are now being sued for the amount owed. What is the statute of limitations on such lawsuits

You asked about the statute of limitations on a debt.
For most consumer debt the statute of limitations is four years (in PA) and runs from the date either when the debt is charged off by the creditor or beginning six months after the last consumer initiated activity. In some cases (including many motor vehicle loans) the debt may be subject to a 20 year statute of limitations when made under "seal." I take issue with the "seal" but wouldn't litigate against it unless my client paid up front.
