Legal Question in Consumer Law in Pennsylvania

company shipped wrong item

around December 22 i ordered two items from a website with a subtotal of $1.98 i was informed the items were backordered. around February i received the wrong items. Instead of the two $1.98 items, i received two items that have a market value of about $472 each. the receipt they gave me said i purchased the two items(the ones that are $472 each), but it also said they only cost as much as the two items i intended to purchase($1.98 subtotal items). The box that the items came in has my address and name, the receipt does also. I read online that i am able to keep the merchandise. Am i required to return these items(I can elaborate on the situation if needed)?

Re: company shipped wrong item

You asked about returning items shipped improperly.

Whatever information you received was incorrect. You need to contact the seller and arrange for return of the goods, at their expense.

You should contact the company by certified mail, return receipt requested so that you have a record of your attempts to return the goods. Unless you legitimately attempt to return the goods you have the potential of being accused of conversion.

Regards,

Roger
