Legal Question in Consumer Law in Pennsylvania
employer responsibility for employee's illegal act
A bus driver on a recent bus trip took the bus from our hotel preventing us from boarding and when items on the bus were returned, my tote with a DVD player and DVDS was missing. The driver was under their employment yet they claim they have no responsibility.

Re: employer responsibility for employee's illegal act
Generally, people are not responsible for the criminal conduct of third parties. What you could do is notify either the appropriate police department for the area where your items last were or contact the district attorney's office.
If you are able to discover whether the driver had a record for the same kind of conduct and can establish that the company knew and/or should have known of the drivers record then you may be able to recover the value of the DVD player and DVDs.
