Legal Question in Consumer Law in Pennsylvania
Gift owership
I gave a gift (a computer) to my granddaughter for Christmas two years ago. Her parents separated and my son has custody. We have asked the mother for the computer, but she is refusing to return it citing her need to use one. She also states that I really gave it to both of them (mother and daughter) but this is simply not true. What recourse do I/we have? I live in Pennsylvania.

Re: Gift owership
Buy your granddaughter a new computer, it is the simplest solution. By now the computer the mother is withholding is already outdated anyway. In reality it is cheaper for you to avoid going to court on this matter. However, in the event you wish to proceed to a trial, you can, and you will probably win, but it will cost you 2-3 times the amount of a new lap top computer. Your choice....
