Legal Question in Consumer Law in Pennsylvania
Heating oil delivered in error
I came home to find that heating oil was delivered to my home from a company I don't know. Am I responsible to pay for oil I didn't order?

Re: Heating oil delivered in error
You asked about receiving heating oil that you didn't request.
It's actually not an uncommon problem. Bad news is that you didn't get free oil. Goods news is that you will get a discount. It's too difficult to remove the oil cost effectively and since you obviously burn oil then you will be able to put it to use.
You can choose to either accept whatever offer the company offers, or you can offer to pay the dealers wholesale fee for the error. More likely you will need to pay the price that your actual dealer offered on the date of the delivery.
