Legal Question in Consumer Law in Pennsylvania
I am currently making payments to a collections firm for an old credit account. They want me to pay them 260.00 per month which I cannot afford. I know I have to make payments, but I'm thinking about half of that I could do. What legal grounds do I have with this request to them? Thanks!

Why are you making payments to a debt collector? That was probably a huge mistake. Next time, have a consumer attorney review any delinquent account before you start sending money to a collector.
As far as the amount, well, you owe what you owe, at least in their eyes. You don't get to set the terms. Pay what they say, or they will sue you. Having said that, believe me, that is not always a bad thing. If your debt was sold to a debt buyer, then they would be doing you a favor by suing you.
