Legal Question in Consumer Law in Pennsylvania

Online Phone Company

I use a company which I found online about 4-5 years ago to make calls to the UK. I initially used to call PC2Phone, but they had an option of Phone2Phone which I have used for about 2-3 years. A few days ago I started receiving emails from another VOIP company telling me that the account I had, had been upgraded to their company!! I have tried desperately (emails and phone) to contact the company I deal with but am not getting any response. I am unable to use my current account to make calls and I also find that now I cannot log on to my account (which currently has over $12 Credit). The company which has my money, has not notified me of any takeover or anything, what can I do to get my money back ??

Re: Online Phone Company

I do not think internet phone companies are regulated by state utilities commissions. They may be regulated in some way by the Federal Communication Commission. So you may want to start there and ask questions. You could also call the Better Business Bureau to see if they know of anything. You could also Google the name to see if you can find any news on what happened. It could be that for a (hopefully) short time period that you will get no service but it will come on line later when the company has worked the bugs out. Good luck.
