Legal Question in Consumer Law in Pennsylvania

Ownership Issue

Where to begin? I have a car that I bought in someone elses name and have been paying them for all of the payments. Now things have gone sour between me and this person, how do I get my car? The insurance is jointly in our names.

Re: Ownership Issue

You asked about how to retriev a car that you bought in another person's name.

You have a very tough row to hoe. The legal presumption is that the other person is the owner of the vehicle. Ownership would be demonstrated by the title, registration and any loan documentation.

You have a greater chance of recovering the funds you contributed under a theory of unlawful conversion rather than trying to reclaim the vehicle.

You either need to reach an amicable resolution with the party or otherwise hire an attorney to deal with the matter for you.

Regards,

Roger
