Legal Question in Consumer Law in Pennsylvania

the Pa state AG office got back to me and in the letter it said that the company has recently made an offer to resolve my complaint. then the letter goes on to say although the present offer may not be completely satisfactory, all settlements are compromises and that I will have to evaluate whether I believe the offer is reasonable in light of all circumstances. my question does this mean the company is going to offer me money to avoid a court battle. how come this the first time I am hearing about this offer? Do i call the company or the state AG office about the offer? See here is the thing I found hillside financial online and had gone to there office once I picked out a home I wanted to live in. So I gave them $10,000.00 for the home priced at $39,995.00 at that point hillside set me up to sign a installment sales agreement with a two year balloon of 36109.17 which is due at the end of 2011. I am also waiting to hear back from the PA department of banking whom I got involved with by reporting this company to the PA Dept. banking. What do I do now? I want to just settle on there offer.

Only you can decide whether or not to accept the offer. As you did not say what the offer was, I cannot offer an opinion. what you should probably do is consult with a lawyer and see what your options are and whether he believes the offer is reasonable. Remember--if you don't accept the offer, you will probably have to hire a lawyer anyway to represent you in any future proceedings. This will cost additionall time and money. If you just want to settle, notify the AG's office that are willing to take the offer and they will send you the necessary papers.
