Legal Question in Consumer Law in Pennsylvania
Paying more than a quote
I recently took my daughters cat to the vet. I told them up front that finances were a concern to me. they kept the cat over night - Icalled in the AM they qoted me $350.00. I said that I could not pay that much and should I put the cat down - I called back at 4 to speak to the vet again told my concern and I wanted to pick up the cat- he said there wouldn't be a difference in the bill and to let him stay 1 more night - when I picked the cat up the bill was $415.00 - I asked why they continued to do more when I had already spoken to them about the finances - I knew the cost of the stay but they did more procedures. Is that right after I had already called them that they go ahead and do more even though I couldn't afford it?

Re: Paying more than a quote
You are entitled to a refund in the amount charged, however, for the limited amount of the bill it would cost you more to file against them then to eat the bill and look for a new vet!
