Legal Question in Consumer Law in Pennsylvania
Here is my question. If a company records phone conversations how long do they have to keep them on file? Is it the same as the e-mail and instant messanger law that is three years? I live in PA nd dealing with a company in TX.

You do not tell me very much. What kind of company is this? Why are calls recorded? Businesses can generally record as long as they warn you that you are being recorded. Phone conversations (sound recordings) are treated like any other records.
If the company is in Texas, it will be governed by Texas law, not PA law regarding the length of time to retain records. The company may also have its own retention schedule which may be longer than that required by law.
I did a brief search and was unable to locate any specific time requirement. My guess is that it would be for at least as long as the statute of limitations (4 to 6 years for most things) and possibly as long as 7 years.
