Legal Question in Consumer Law in Pennsylvania
Sublease agreement
My college freshmen, signed a sublease for next year's college housing. This sublease was drawn up by the landlord between the current tenant and my son and another person. On the sublease, there is a statement that reads ''parents agree to allo terms of the lease......''. We never agreed to this lease or signed any paperwork. My son has no job and can only be responsible for what it would have cost him for his dormitory costs, which is $300/month. I have contacted the landlord and told them no agreement from us was signed to be a guarantor and they told me that my son is 18 and is obligated and it does not matter that we did not sign a guarantor agreement. BUT, it mentions that we did in the sublease. Will my son be held responsible when there is no guarantor and they did not do a background check to see if he is employed?

Re: Sublease agreement
I have not seen any of these documents, but it is highly unlikely that your son could have bound you to any agreement without your consent. Your son will be responsible for documents he signed.
