Veternarian Problem
I took my cat to vet. The vet said she saw something on an ex-ray in his colon. She cut him open, found nothing, and sent samples to be biopsied. She told me to prepare for worst, probably cancer. Tests would take 5 days. Tests results came back and no cancer but she feared cat had feline infectious peritonitis. I have 3 cats, no children, they are my children. .. Needed more tests done , additional $92.00+800.00 I had already paid. She said to prepare for worst, it was communicable, always fatal and since my other cats were near him, they were going to die too. I had to wait 5 more days for tests results again. Freshman in college, first 3 weeks of school. I couldn't handle watching my 3 cats die agonizing deaths. Tests came back negative, nothing wrong with cat. I lost 15 lbs, have 2 F's on m id term grades, federally funded training, lost job to foreign country so my funding is in jeopardy. I took him back to have sutures removed, tech handed him to me and said no charge. I was willing to forget about it. Today I received bill for $92.00 for the tests that put me through all that misery. She cut my cat open open and tortured, purely tortured me for 3 weeks. Can I sue her?

Re: Veternarian Problem
I don't know where to begin on this one. First, in theory, you would have to prove that the vet's actions fell below the standard of care--there is absolutely no indication of this in your e-mail. But what's more amazing is: what damages are you entitled to? You're not even entitled to the market value of your cats (like twenty bucks) because they are not hurt. Emotional distress? Are you really prepared to tell a jury you got F's and didn't get a job for being worried about your cat? No. There is no case.
