Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

I'm 17 and my account was garnished

my father and i have the same name and we both use the same bank. Our accounts are independent of eachother. My account was garnished on 5/23 and 6/6 totalling 763.78 due to a judgment on my father. whose fault is this the banks or the collector? Who determines which account to debit? The bank or the collector? We have different social security numbers and I openned my account by myself without my father or mother. What do I do? How do I get my money back. I bus tables and that's a lot of money to me. PLEASE HELP ME1

This might actually be good news.

Go speak with a lawyer. You may have a claim under various laws and in fact the offending parties may be liable to you for statutory damages and legal fees. When you make a lawyer familiar with the situation s/he will be better able to determine if you have a good case.

You should bring a parent to the meeting.

Regards,

Roger
