had a repo in 1990 with cosigner

got contacted by loan co,want me to pay half of what cosigner didnt pay

You asked about an old loan.

Unless there is something that you did not put in your inquiry this is an old debt that is completely uncollectable.

Debts are generally valid for 4 years from the last date of activity on the account, by the party against which the creditor is seeking collection. Moreover debts cannot be reported on a credit report for more than 7 years after it was charged off (or 180 days after the last payment, whichever is earlier).

You are being contacted by a creditor (probably a collection company) that is trying to shake the tree for easy money. You have rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and you should learn how to defend yourself against unscrupulous creditors by reading that law.
