car lease problem

My car lease company accidently credited another costumers payment to my account showing that i had a credit balance so we didn't make payments while we had a credit balance now when they discovered there era they want immediate payment or lose of car. What are my rights? It is not my job to correct the companys mistake why should i be punished for their mistake?

A car leased is based on a contract. That contract requires that you make monthly payments over a period of time and, at the end of that period, you may be able to purchase the car for a sum of money. If all payments are not made timely, the company has the right to repossess.

The only ways to prevent the loss of your car are an amicable resolution with the car loan company or a bankruptcy. Chapter 13 may allow you to cure the default on the lease.
