Can a car lot repo your car? Yes.

Even if you are 1 day late, they can repo the car and can demand, not only the past amount owed, but also the entire amount remaining on the car loan.

You do not tell me how many months you were behind or what is still owed. If you have a lot of debt, you might want to consider filing bankruptcy. If the whole sum is demanded, you can try and refinance, but that may be difficult. Perhaps you can get the funds needed from a family member. If that will not work, have a family member/firend try to buy the car at auction as the price paid may be lower. You will still have to pay the family member for the car and the lender is going to come after you for the balance on the car.

You can try and work something out IF the lender will allow you to pay the past due sums plus the costs of repossession. You must come up with a substantial amount if not the entire sum.

I'm sorry but there are no good options here.
