Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Charging Late Fees

If one pays off her credit card, less the $25.00 late fee, is it legal for the company to continue to add a new $25.00 late fee each month? Please note: The original debt has been paid off. There was a $25.00 Late Fee balance, to which they added another $25.00 Late Fee and another and another. Thanks.

Re: Charging Late Fees

To avoid the expense of litigation call them and offer to pay the first 25 dollar late fee if they cancel the rest.

Re: Charging Late Fees

I would send a letter disputing the late charges. You are required to notify the credit card company of a dispute. Once you have written them, the can not add late charges or interest until they investigated. If you call them ask them to waive the entire balance or terminate your credit card.
