Checking account levy

My checking account was levied because of a money judgement .

In th account was scholarship monies belonging to my son from a private fund is that money exempt from being levied.

It is likely that they can take the money because you �commingled� (mixed) the funds from the scholar ship with your own funds. However, you may be able to convince a judge that a portion of the money belongs to your son and you were holding it in trust for him. I suspect you have an uphill battle though. You may want to see an attorney.
