Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

civil complaint filed for debt against me

a civil complaint for the amount of 5,614.61 on a revolving credit card issued by us bank where the balance is in default since 10/31/02 has been filed against me.

in 2002 i lost a good job. since then i have gone from one low paying job to the next usually only lasting about 6 months. in 2005 i became disabled. the disability runs out next month.i did not recieve any money from this disability. i collected unemployment only for six months ending last month. i have never tried to make payments or arrange payments to this creditor. i have about 25,000 in combined debt and cant pay any of it at this time or basically at anytime in the last three years. what do i do now? do i contact the collection agency? do i try to defend myself in court? my attitude was you can't get blood from a stone but now i have this summons. before 2002 i had perfect credit now im in ruin so i just thought i would let it go. guess i was wrong. please help. now what should i do? thanking you in advance.

You should defnd the action. Creditors must be able to prove all of the eleemnts. Many times on old accounts they cannot produce signed contracts. I offer free consultations.
