Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania
Civil complaint
I received 2 seperate civil complaints in the PA, Delaware county area where I reside.
They are from an attorney representing Capital one.
The amounts are for $1,300 & $ 2,300. I do NOT own a home or property of any kind.
I am paying for a car on a monthly basis.
Currently I am not working, but am looking for work.
The attoney for Capital one, told me to make payments of $100 monthly, but that is a little high for me.
If I would tell them, the best I could do is $50 a month, would they have to accept it?
What could they do to me, and what can I do?
Thank you,
Jonathan

Re: Civil complaint
There is no way to know if it will be accepted. If it is the best you can do you should at least ask. If they do not settle with you they will obtain a judgment against you and have a lien on any property that you might acquire in the future and your credit rating will be negatively affected making it harder and more expensive to obtain credit.
