Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Collecting Loan to family member

Roughly 7 years ago lent family member a substanitial amount of money. Family member was suppose to pay back. Nothing in writing, verbal agreement. I have copy of returned checks. How do we collect the money. Every time asked for it the response is in 6 months. We would like a fair interest rate due to money being invested.

If the amount you seek is $8,000 or less you can file suit in District Court. A larger amount must be filed in Common Pleas Court. Because the contract is oral you definitely need to speak to an attorney to make sure your case is properly pled and argued. I offer free consultations.
