Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

collection civil suit.

1. Is there any limitation on the time allowed for credit issuing co./bank to either charge off, or make judgement on an individual?

2. If named in a civil suit demanding payment, what disclosure I am I allowed as far as who is actually suing me. Is it the bank, or just someone who bought an old debt for pennies and trying to collect, or hoping it is ignored and then just leaning debt against wages, or property?

Re: collection civil suit.

The statute of limitations for collection in a contract type case is generally 4 years but you have to file an answer to the suit to raise the statute as a defense.
