Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania
I have a collection company calling on a credit card I had over 3 years ago. The balance is more than doubled in the amount I owe. I asked about paying what I actually charged but got no responce. They call every day by 9am and very rude and abusive. Is there a way I can stop these calls legally.

Yes, you need to send them a cease and desist letter. Any consumer attoney can do that for you at a very minimal cost. When you mention that they are rude and abusive, I can tell you that is illegal. If you can provide specifics, you may have a lawsuit against them under the FDCPA. Our firm, and other consumer firms do not charge an out of pocket fee to handle FDCPA claims.
I agree in every way with Attorney Artim. Feel free to email me with more questions.
