Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania
i am being contaxted by collection agency called investigative services phone no. 678-648-5476,leaving msgs., saying they're investigating me for check fraud, and called up friend of mine telling them, same thing, asking for my address, and phone no. this is for unpaid payday loan. my question is if they find my checking, or savings acct. nos., can they take out electronic deductions without my approval? i have my disability check direct deposited in my savings acct. each month, can they touch that?

The answer to your question is...they have to sue you and win first.
However, the tactics and calls you mention may mean the collection agency may be violating the law.
You may be able to sue them and be awarded money.
