Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Credit Card and Collection Agency

I owe money to creditors that have discharged my account already. What can a credit card company or a collection agency do if I get half of a house in my name?

If the creditors have a judgment they can execute upon that judgment against any property that you own that is not exempt from execution. That means they can have it sold at Sheriff's Sale to get the money that you owe them. If it is a house that you own as a tenant in common, they would have to bring a partition action.

By "discharged" if you mean that the creditors have written off the debt without filing suit, then you may be off the hook if you incurred the debt longer than 4 years ago.
