Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

credit card collection

I have disputed a credit card charge since 2004. Finally I sent a ''payment in full'' check that was cashed by the credit card company. Since then the credit card company has charged off the account and turned it over to several credit collectors. I just send them a copy of the cancelled check. What else do I need to do?

Re: credit card collection

The "payment in full" memo strategy does not always work. If they agreed to accept the amount that you sent them, then the collection agency will likely leave you alone, especially if it was close to the amount claimed.
