Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

A credit card company is taking me to the magistrate. I have no problem paying but I need a reasonable payment plan. I asked for this all along and all they wanted was a bulk of money. Plus, I was to have a hearing on October 27 and it was cancelled by them. Now the new date is not good for me. I don't even want to go. Do I have to?

If you don't go, you obviously will lose, and you will lose for whatever amount they have requested. Are you sure that it is a credit card company that is pursuing you? Or was the credit card account sold to a collection agency? If it was sold, then it would be a tremendous mistake to ignore the hearing. Perhaps you want to send an attorney in your place? A good consumer attorney can beat a collection agency, if that's what this is, almost every time.
