Re: credit card
The credit card company first has to obtain a judgment. At that point they have a judicial lien against any property that you won including your home. The most important thing with credit card debt is to file an answer if a suit is filed. Frequently it is not the credit card company but a collection agency filing suit and, also, frequently the statute of limitations has passed before they file.
