Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Credit Card Debt

I have been religiously paying on a credit card debt since June 2007 ($200/month via Western Union). I received a letter in the mail that that same account has been turned over to a company called LVNV Funding, LLC (letter came from Alliance One). They are demanding payment in full. I do not know who the company LVNV Funding is, because the credit card was issued through Washington Mutual. I also do not understand how a person can be penalized for making payments in a timely fashion. I talked with the representative from Alliance One today, who was very demeaning to me. Can you tell me who LVNV Funding is and if I have any options?

Re: Credit Card Debt

You asked about debt collection.

We love debt collectors. They always screw up and we get to sue them for statutory damages for the client plus our fees and costs.

Look at the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and see if you can see how the debt collectors are violating the law. You must take control of the situation and control them. Wait for them to violate the law and then sue.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Roger

Re: Credit Card Debt

Did you have an agreement with Washington Mutual accepting, as settlement, the $200/mo?
