Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

credit card debts

My husband has credit card depts which he no longer can pay. My name is not on the cards. Am I still responsible for these debts as his spouse and owning our home, can liens be put on our house if debts are not paid?

Re: credit card debts

You are not civilly liable on the cards unless you are a named person on the account. In other words, they cannot sue you individually. However, when they sue your husband, if they prevail, they will be able to index the judgment as a lien.
