Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Credit Card Default Lawsuit

I defaulted on a credit card 3 1/2 years ago and have had no contact from the creditor for 2+ years and today I was served with a notice of a lawsuit. I already have two judgements against me for auto reposession and a credit line default from a local bank, but they were handled through the magistrate's office. The notice I just received is filed with commonwealth court. Can I expect the two judments to end up in commonwealth court also? I don't know what I should do.

Re: Credit Card Default Lawsuit

If the case was transferred to a collection agency, then you need to defend the lawsuit. Lawsuits filed by collection agencies are typically legally insufficient. A good consumer attorney should be able to assist you in this regard. If you would like to discuss this matter further, please contact my office.
