I received a registered letter notice from a district court and know what it is for...what happens if I do not collect the letter and not attend the hearing...it is to collect a credit card debt.

Re: Credit Card Lawsuit
If you do not attend the Hearing, have an attorney appear for you. In fact, it may be a good tactic not to go and to have an attorney attend because the credit card companies' attorneys frequently rely on the defendant's testimony in these matters and if you aren't there they can't call you. If you don't pick up the letter it will just be sent again by ordinary mail if it hasn't been already.
