Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania
Credit Card Payment
Two years ago my husband and I paid off our 1200.00 Walmart credit card payment. We did it in the store so that it would be faster and paid. A couple of months later they sent another bill requesting a payment plus late fees because the amount we paid off was the right amount, BUT the new billing cycle was not added onto the amount we had paid. I called and argued with them and told them to put it on our credit because we had just handed them 1200.00 and I was not paying anymore. I don't think it is fair. We still get calls from them daily after two years! So now as you can imagine the debt is outrageous again. Were they allowed to do this, or should it have already been included on the final amount we were told to pay? I guess maybe this is where my stubbornness got me into trouble.

Re: Credit Card Payment
You may or may not owe the amount they claim, but that depends on the terms of the contract and whether they followed them. Often they may do what they want hoping you won't discover that they haven't followed the contract.
You didn't give any details about the phone calls. If the time of their calls or what they say to you violates the law, they could be made to pay YOU money.
If you wish, provide more details on these topics and I may be able to offer detailed advice.
