Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania
My daughter was a freshman, who left after the first semester. The housing dorms are separate from the college and I would like to know how she is able to get out of paying the remainder of the lease they are demanding. Is there a way?

This is a landlord tenant question, not a credit.debt and collections question. The starting point is the lease. Why did your daughter leave? Generally, there is no right to break a lease. Read the lease agreement a nd see what it says about early termination. If there is a penalty in there, your daughter may have to pay it and they will release her. Or she might have to locate a suitable replacement tenant to take over her lease. Failing that, try offering 2-3 months rent and see if the landlord will agree to that.
