dead husbands credit card debt

do i the wife have to pay my husbands credit cards that are in his name only and there is one that is in his name only but he later had them issue a card for me because he had a hard time signing due to a stroke also his name is on our mortgage but the mortgage is more than the value of our house

The agreement on the credit card undoubtedly provides that you are jointly responsible. There may be some question as to use of the credit card before you were added and with respect to your signature, though.

The mortgage is a property interest of the lender. Even if the house is not worth the amount of the mortgage, the holder of the mortgage still has a property interest in the house up to the amount of the mortgage. You may want to offer them a deed in lieu of foreclosure if you don't want to keep the house.
