Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Default judgement

what happens when a default judgement is passed due to not paying a credit card. The card has been let go after attempting to repay. The credit card company and the collection agency would not agree to what we could afford, so they refused to take anything.

Re: Default judgement

Why would you let it get to a default judgment? There are defenses to these suits. The collection agency usually doesn't file it right, doesn't have the right documentation, etc., and it would be thrown out if you would respond to the suit.

After a default judgment, they can have the sheriff come to your house and sell your stuff up to the value of the judgment, or freeze your bank accounts.
